My One Little Word
Amenable. It means to be agreeable and willing to do work. The reason I chose this is because I at times can be someone who is not very agreeable with because of my views and the way I state things. Thus being amenable would be good for me because it would cause less prolems for me and others.
Haiti
Haiti was demolished by an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude on January 12th and on Wednesday another earthquake of 6.0 magnitude struck Haiti. The second earthquake caused one woman to die of a heart-attack due to the shock, and it also demolished buildings that were partially destroyed or completley destroyed and forced at least one medical team to evacuate the building that they were using as a shelter.
English 2009-2010
I personally think that with this blog that I have become better at getting work done for English, because I don't have to write it on paper. I also think that my quality of writing has improved, because I normally don't write poetry at all or well. I am now aware that this is also being read by more than my teacher or other students and that feels kind of unreal. I hope that I can continue to improve my writing skills and ability to blog properly.

Martin Luther King Jr.
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'" quote from Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a Dream" speech in Washington DC. on August 28, 1963. I believe that in this quote he is talking about how the nation had been being unfair about giving African Americans rights and he was telling the audience that he believed that one day the nation would believe that African Americans are equal to regular white Americans.

Life Deferred
What happens to a life deferred?
Does it overflow
Like New Orleans after Katrina?
Or does it rot like a corpse--
And then disappear?
Does it reek like a corrupt egg?
Or rust and decay--
like a junkyard?
Maybe it just dies
like a comatose patient.
Or does it implode?
Does it overflow
Like New Orleans after Katrina?
Or does it rot like a corpse--
And then disappear?
Does it reek like a corrupt egg?
Or rust and decay--
like a junkyard?
Maybe it just dies
like a comatose patient.
Or does it implode?

Letter to Jerry from Steve
Dear Jerry,
I miss you. It isn't a fun place to be, here in jail. Stay in school and don't try drugs or anything bad. How have you been? Has anything changed since I've been gone? You still wanna be my sidekick? Think about all the tomorrows of your life. Don't forget about me.
Your Big Bro,
Steven Harmon

Found Poem
All the world was in jail
It didn't look real
Playing the world like a game
The world drifted into the area
Different from my world
Somebody was so far away
Playing games on the field
It didn't look real
Different from my world
All the world was in jail
