What happens to a life deferred?
Does it overflow
Like New Orleans after Katrina?
Or does it rot like a corpse--
And then disappear?
Does it reek like a corrupt egg?
Or rust and decay--
like a junkyard?
Maybe it just dies
like a comatose patient.
Or does it implode?
